Justin Spagrud scored just 26 seconds into overtime to lift the Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires to a 2-1 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Generals.

The Legionnaires trailed 1-0 after two periods after Colton Schick's second-period marker. Legionnaires' captain Cody McKinnon tied it with a powerplay goal with 7:46 remaining in regulation as the Legionnaires finished one-for-five with the man-advantage.

Spagrud, McKinnon, and Edwin Hookenson all picked up assists. Spagrud leads the Legionnaires and is tied for fifth in the league with 19 goals. McKinnon is now tied with Spagrud for the team lead with six powerplay goals this season.

Kyler Beckett made 26 saves to improve to 10-7-1 this season.

The Legionnaires remain in sixth spot in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League with a 16-12-2-0 record. Moose Jaw sits third with a 20-9-1-1 mark.

The Legionnaires will be in Regina on Saturday to face the ninth-place Pat Canadians (8-16-3-2).
