Legionnaires lose in OT to Hounds

The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires suffered their first loss at the Kelowna International Major Midget Tournament with a 3-2 loss with only 22 seconds remaining in overtime to the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday morning.

Kyler Beckett made 48 saves in the overtime loss, while Lukas Biensch and Tim Vanstone both scored.

The Legionnaires dropped to 2-1 heading into their game against the Thunder Bay Kings at 4:30 p.m local time.

The Legionnaires will conclude the six-team round robin on Saturday against the Comox Valley Chiefs (0-2).

The semi-finals, featuring the top two teams from each six-team pool, are slated for Saturday evening with the championship final set for Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
