The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes stretched their unbeaten streak to eight games with blowout wins over the Moose Jaw Warriors and Melville Millionaires.

The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes stretched their unbeaten streak to eight games in the South Sask Midget AA Hockey League with a pair of lopsided weekend wins.

Friday, call up Dominic Vallee potted three goals in a 6-2 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors. Keegan Braaten added a goal and two assists and Cole Kozyn also had a pair of helpers. Brandon Gauthier and Dalton Menke also scored, while Dylan Gruending, Ryan Svenson, Phillip Gossard, Jayden Roosen, and Kade Behm all added assists. Kyle Garland earned the win with an 18-save performance.

Saturday, the Hurricanes got goals from eight different skaters in a 9-1 blowout win over the Melville Millionaires.

Defenseman Reid Fritzke led the way with two goals and an assist, while Roosen added a goal and two helpers and Johnston and Menke both registered a goal and an assist.

Kozyn, Brayden Karmazinuk, Derek Roeher, and Vallee all added goals, while Ian Fargey, Braaten, George Hudec, Gauthier, and Gossard each chipped in assists.

Logan Tisdale earned the win in goal as the Hurricanes out-shot the Millionaires 54-22.

The Hurricanes current eight-game unbeaten streak has helped them maintain top spot in the league standings with an impressive 16-2-2 record.

The Hurricanes will continue a three-game homestand to conclude their 2011 schedule when they host the fifth-place Regina Flames (8-5-4) on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex.
