A tic-tac-toe passing play between Kyle Verdino, Taylor Vause, and Adam Lowry has landed the Swift Current Broncos in the Mazda WHL Plays of the Year.

The passing play, which was finished off by Lowry for his first career hat trick, was selected as the 10th best play in the Western Hockey League this season (video).

Lowry’s goal finished off a pretty passing play from Vause and Verdino on a three-on-one rush as he put the puck past Calgary Hitmen goaltender Michael Snider. His third goal of the contest sealed a 3-2 win over the visiting Hitmen on January 6.

Edmonton Oil Kings forward Michael St. Croix claimed top spot with an incredible one-handed goal against the Vancouver Giants. Chilliwack Bruins goaltender Lucas Gore took second spot with a desperation paddle save against the Oil Kings.
