Swift Current's Caedyn Moffitt shows the ball he used when he fired a hole-in-one on Hole #3 at the Chinook Golf Course on August 27.
Swift Current's Caedyn Moffitt accomplished a once-in-a-lifetime shot on Wednesday when he collected a hole-in-one on Hole #3 at the Chinook Golf Course.
Not bad for a 10-year-old.
Moffitt was excited just to be out on the golf course for the first time this year, but his excitement turned to pure joy when he reached the #3 green and found that his tee shot found the bottom of the cup.
"I didn't know right away. I couldn't see it anywhere, and you could see the whole green. I saw it go onto the green… and I knew it wouldn't have rolled off the green," the wide grinning youngster recalled during a return visit to the Golf Course before the Labour Day long weekend.
"I just started screaming and yelling 'I got a hole in one!' 'I got a hole in one!' as soon as I found out. Yes I thought it was pretty amazing."
Moffitt, who is preparing to attend Grade 6 at Fairview School next week, was golfing with his grandparents when he launched his perfect shot. He used a driver from the tee, and his shot negotiated the raised green and avoided the bunker in front of the hole. More impressively, it is only the third hole-in-one reported at the Chinook Golf Course pro shop this year.
"It was the perfect shot for me. Even my first hit of the day was pretty good, it was about 130 yards on the first hole."
"I was really excited to just go on the golf course, and then getting a hole in one during my first time of the year it was pretty amazing," he said, adding "This was my favourite hole, even from before when I got the hole in one."
