Shaunavon’s Corey Bailey continued some strong recent play with a third-place finish at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Golf Sask OOM Series at Deer Valley & Estates in Regina Saturday and Sunday.
Bailey was only three shots off the Junior Boys lead after firing a three-over 75 on day one to trail Unity's Justin Wood and Madison's Kyle Wiebe. He scored a 79 on day two to finish six shots back of Wood, who edged Regina’s Adam Schoettler by one stroke.
Swift Current’s Taylor Kinch finished in 15th spot in the Juvenile Boys Division. Kinch was tied for 19th after a first-round 95. He slashed 12 strokes on Sunday for an 85 to finish 28 strokes behind Kipling’s Carson Harcourt, who won the event by seven shots.
Swift Current’s Kyle Tisdale tied for 21st in Juvenile Boys. Tisdale shot a 91 on day one to sit tied for 17th, 17 shots back of Meadow Lake's Diehl Normand for the lead. He shot a 98 on Sunday.
Swift Current’s Griffin Wilson was 15th in the Bantam Boys Division. Wilson shot a 97 on day one to sit 22 shots off the lead of Saskatoon's Andrew Campbell. He carded a 101 on day two, while Campbell won the event with an 82 on Sunday for a five-stroke win.
Waldeck’s Matthew Dueck placed 16th in Juvenile Boys. Dueck carded a 103 on day one to sit 16th in the Bantam Boys standings after one round and maintained his spot with a 102 in Sunday.
Next up on the MJT calendar is the MJT Mountain View Credit Union Classic in Olds, AB this weekend. The next Saskatchewan stop will be the MJT-CPGA of Saskatchewan / Golf Saskatchewan OOM Series at The Willows Golf and Country Club on July 3-4.
