Kruger defends Horse Race title

Lac La Biche’s Blaine Kruger defended his title in the Horse Race at the 66th Annual Labour Day Classic Men’s Golf Tournament at The Elmwood Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

Kruger won the event with a birdie on the final hole. Sheldon Reinhart escaped some early troubles to finish second overall. Al Jahnke placed third after entering the event tied for seventh.

Devon Deobold defeated Brennan Rumancik on Monday to win the tournament’s championship flight. Deobold had advanced to the final by defeating Keith Miyashiro in the semi-final, while Rumancik advanced past Ryan Neustaeter in the other semi-final. Sheldon Reinhart won the consolation match on the other side of the championship flight.
