Christiansen fires 64 at Junior Men's Championships

Eston’s Jehremy Ryde maintained his solid performance at the SGI Canada Saskatchewan Junior Men’s Championship but fell off the lead as Jerry Christiansen fired a blistering seven-under-par 64 on Thursday to take a four-shot lead after three rounds.

Christiansen, an Air Ronge native, who plays out of the Riverside Country Club, will enter Friday’s final round with a three-day, seven-under-par total of 205 at the Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current.

Ryde, who currently works in the Pro Shop at Elmwood Golf Course in Swift Current, was two-under-par on Thursday to sit four-under through three rounds.

Defending champion, Jordan Arndt of Furdale, is in third at one-under-par for the tournament.

Shaunavon’s Corey Bailey was nine-over on Thursday to sit tied for 33rd at 31-over-par.

Swift Current’s Jessy-Lee Lacher was 11-over and sits 36th at 36-over-par.

Swift Current’s Erykah Pool struggled on day three with a 132 to sit seventh on the girls’ side. Saskatoon’s Thea Hedemann leads the girls by 27 shots with a nine-over-par total of 222 heading into the final round.
