Ryde and Hedemann lead junior championships after two rounds

Jehremy Ryde of Eston was just one of two golfers to card a second day total under 70 while moving into the lead at the 2011 SGI Canada Saskatchewan Junior Golf Championships at the Chinook Golf Course.

Ryde shot a second-day best three-under-par 68 to assume the lead on the men's side with a 140. His two-under-par performance puts him one shot ahead of Jerry Christiansen of Air Ronge who is second at one under par (68-73=141). Day one leader Justin Wood from Unity dropped into a third place at one over par (67-76=143), with Jordan Arndt from Furdale (69-74=143).

The top local competitor is Shaunavon's Corey Bailey who is tied for 33rd with a two day total of 164. Seven Swift Current golfers are also in action, with Jessy-Lee Lacher 36th with a 167, Logan Tisdale sits 38th with a 168, Cory Audette is 48th at 174, Austin Paulhus is 50th with a 176, Taylor Kinch is 52nd with a 178, while Matt Reimer and Brody Knelsen have both carded 182s to sit 54th.

In Junior Women's play, Saskatoon's Thea Hedemann is running away from the field, holding a 16 shot lead after two rounds. She has posted rounds of 72 and 73 to finish day two with a three-over-par 145. Lisa Reid from Regina is second at 161. The lone local competitor is Swift Current's Erykah Pool who sits seventh.
