The Swift Current Comp. Arden and Colts golf teams were in Humboldt for the SHSAA Provincial Grass Golf Championships where they finished second and ninth respectively in the team standings.
The Arden finished with a score of 642, just 24 shots back of Coronach in top spot.
The Ardens were led by grade 11 Lacey Duncan, who fired rounds of 101 and 100 to place 12th. Saskatoon Walter Murray’s Thea Hedmann easily won the tournament in 160 strokes.
Ponteix’s Alyssa Fournier shot rounds of 104 and 102 to place 15th in 206 strokes.
Ardens’ grade 10 golfer Rachel Cronan placed 20th with a score of 217, teammate Ashley Sauder was 35th in 246 shots, and Theresa Lautch placed 51st in 285 strokes.
The Colts finished ninth in the team standings with a four-golfer total of 492. Regina LeBoldus captured the provincial title in 462 strokes. LeBoldus Golden Suns’ golfer Aaron Vogel won the provincial title in 153 strokes, two shots ahead of teammate Daegan Wall.
Grade 12 Cody Schapansky was the top Colts finisher in 21st spot with rounds of 84 and 81 for a 165 total. Leader’s Cody Marshall was the next Southwest finisher in 45th in 175 shots.
Colts Keegan Braaten was 48th in 177 shots, Jessy Lee Lacher was 59th in 181 strokes, and Carter Grant was 77th with a score of 204.
