Pavely and Kehler among day one leaders at mid-amateur championship

Two Swift Current golfers are among the front runners at the 2010 Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Men's Championship.

Chinook Golf Course players Terry Pavely and Tim Kehler both carded opening round 78s on Tuesday to sit tied for 16th at the championship at Kenosee Lake.

Pavely shot a 38 on the front nine and was 40 on the back part of the course to post a six-over-par opening round. Kehler had a 41 to start his round, but turned in a 37 on the back nine to record his six-over-par round.

Torrie Coghlin from Saskatoon leads the men's championship after day one with a one-under-par 71.

In the 2010 Saskatchewan Amateur Women's Championship, Maple Creek's Kristen Arndt shot an opening round 87 to sit sixth overall and 11 shots off the lead.
