Kirkpatrick wins second straight at Tankard

Swift Current's Max Kirkpatrick fended off elimination for a second straight time at the 2014 SaskTel Tankard Provincial Men's Curling Championship.

The Swift Current rink defeated North Battleford's Scott Manners 6-4 Friday evening to remain alive in the C Event with their second consecutive win after losing their first two games of the tournament.

Kirkpatrick and Manners traded scoring ends from the third until the 10th end but Kirkpatrick scored deuces in the sixth and eighth and kept Manners to singles in all four of their scoring ends.

Kirkpatrick will be back on the ice at the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in Shaunavon Saturday at 9 a.m. against Langenburg's Jeff Hartung needing two more wins to make the page playoff.
