Kirkpatrick remains alive at Tankard

Max Kirkpatrick scored three points in the final end to win a back and forth contest over Saskatoon's Mike Armstrong to remain alive at the 2014 SaskTel Tankard Men's Provincial Championship in Shaunavon Friday morning.

The Swift Current rink picked up its first win with an 11-8 victory to open the C Event. They trailed 3-1 after three ends before scoring four in the fourth end for a 5-3 lead. Armstrong tied the game 5-5 the very next end but Kirkpatrick replied with two in the sixth end to take a 7-5 lead. Armstrong fought back with another deuce in the seventh to tie the game and the two teams exchanged singles to enter the final end tied 8-8 before Kirkpatrick scored three with the hammer.

Kirkpatrick will continue the C Event tonight at 8 p.m. at the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in Shaunavon.
