The Shaun Meachem rink from Swift Current has advanced into tonight's A event semi-final after scoring an 8-7 extra end win over the Darren Engel rink at the Tim Hortons Provincial Mixed Curling Championship in Eston.

Meachem did not need to throw his final rock in the extra end where the rink had hammer after Engel tied the match with a single in the 10th.

The see-saw match was featured the lead changing hands six times and the teams only blanking a pair of ends.

Meachem is supported by third Kelly Wood, second Carl deConnick Smith, and lead Kelsey Dutton.

Meachem will clash with the Jamie Schneider rink during tonight's 7:30 p.m. draw.

The Jade Telke rink from Kyle is on the ice for a B event afternoon draw against the Leo Perrin skipped team from Shellbrook.
