Southwest rinks in action today at SaskTel Southern Men's Playdowns

A trio of Southwest rinks will be in action at the SaskTel Southern Men's Playdowns which start in Estevan this afternoon.

In afternoon opening draw action, Swift Current's Clayton Wicks rink will be on the ice against 2009 Saskatchewan Tankard champion and 2000 Saskatchewan Junior Men's winner Moose Jaw's Joel Jordison, while Shaylor Layman's Lafleche rink will be clashing with Chris Busby from Regina's Highland Curling Club.

On the ice during 7 p.m. second draw action at the 16-team playdown will be Swift Current's Reagan Hadden versus Brent Gedak from the host Estevan Curling Club.

The SaskCurl website lists the Wicks rink as including third Ron Bailey, second Wayne Oakman and lead Mike Francis. Shaylor Layman skips the Lafleche Curling Club rink of third Ron Lucas, second David Sproule and lead Tyler Sewell. The Hadden rink consists of third Joel Denning, second Nathan Glassford and lead cody Mitchell.
