The Clayton Wicks rink, curling out of the Swift Current Curling Club, managed only one win at the Affinity Credit Union Senior Men’s Southern Playdowns in Weyburn as they were eliminated from provincial contention.
The Wicks rink, comprised of Clayton Wicks, Clem Therrien, Norm Buchanan, and Keith Ahrens, won their opening match but lost their next three.
Wicks opened the A event with a 9-6 win over Eldon Biccum out of the Lumsden Curling Club.
In their second game the Wicks rink fell to Lafleche’s Gordon Crone by a 7-5 score.
In the B event Wicks was dismissed by Melville’s Brian Waldbauer 7-6, before a C event 8-1 loss at the hands of Weyburn’s Rick Williams.
The Senior Men’s Provincial Championship will go February 17-21 at the Shaunavon Curling Club.
