Five Swift Current rinks will clash with the top rinks from across the province at the Sunridge Developments Sask Curling Tour event at the Swift Current Curling Club this weekend.
The Dec. 11 to 13 bonspeil features 16 rinks battling for an $8,800 payout. Local rinks on the ice are Clayton Wicks, Mac Spier, Max Kirkpatrick, Jeff Chambers and Greg Zyloway.
Day one draws on Friday will be held at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
In Draw #1, Chambers will clash with Moose Jaw's Mark Herbert, who won the Gardiner Dam Terminal Men's Sask Tour Event in Outlook this past weekend. Wicks will be on the ice against Dustin Kalthoff from Saskatoon's Nutana Curling Club. Other Draw One matches feature Derick Boe from Regina's Highland Curling Club versus Kody Hartung of Langenburg, plus Saskatoon's Mark Lang against Darren Beach of Regina's Callie Curling Club.
Friday's 9 p.m. draw has Kirkpatrick clashing with Kelly Kesserling, Zyloway takes on Jeff Hartung of Langenburg, while Spier meets Jamie Schneider of the Kronau Curling Club. The other draw two match features Saskatoon's Glen Heitt versus Darren Camm from the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon.
The top finishing rink will take home $2,500, with the runners-up claiming $1,900. The third and fourth place teams will earn $1,300, while the fifth and sixth place rinks will each claim $900.
