The Swift Current Broncos remain winless against the Brandon Wheat Kings in three attempts this season after a 4-2 loss to the host Wheat Kings on Friday.

Three unanswered second period goals in 5:40 were the difference as the Wheat Kings erased a 2-1 deficit after 20 minutes.

Michael Stickland and Brad Hoban staked the Broncos to a 2-0 lead but Jay Fehr cut the lead to 2-1 after the first period.

Brodie Melnychuk and Michael Ferland scored goals 28 seconds apart in the second period and Brayden Schenn added his 13th of the season to put the game out of reach.

Morgan Clark dropped to 11-8-0-1 with 26 saves on 30 shots for the Broncos.

Jacob De Serres improved to 5-5-0-1 with 27 saves on 29 shots as he improved to 5-2-0-1 with the Wheat Kings after being acquired from the Seattle Thunderbirds.

With the loss the Broncos fell to 13-12-0-2 as they dropped to 1-9-0-2 on the road this season.

With their fourth straight victory Brandon improved to 17-10-0-2 with their eighth win on home ice this season.

The two teams will face one another again Saturday back in Swift Current as the Broncos look to improve on their 12-3-0-0 record at the Credit Union iplex.

Bronco Bits: Defenseman Travis Bobbee made his debut after being acquired Thursday from the Portland Winter Hawks. Bobbee wore #4 and was a minus two in the game. Hoban's goal gave him a seven-game point streak with five goals and eight assists over that span. Cody Eakin picked up an assist and now has points in eight of his last nine games. Justin Dowling also earned an assist for a five-game point streak.
