The Swift Current grade nine Colts basketball team defeated Weyburn 71-67 in the championship final to claim their annual home tournament on Saturday.
The Colts finished 3-0 in the round robin to set up the championship final against second-place Weyburn.
In the round robin the Colts defeated Shaunavon 62-57, Waldeck 99-16, and Weyburn 61-49.
The Shaunavon Shadows finished third with a 57-28 win over Waldeck and losses to Swift Current and Weyburn.
Waldeck finished in fourth without a win in three games.
On the girl’s side the Swift Current Comp. grade nine Ardens were the top Southwest finishers with a silver medal finish after a 45-28 loss to Preeceville in the championship final.
The Ardens finished second in the round robin with a 73-28 win over Shaunavon, a 56-28 win over Waldeck, and a 41-23 loss to Preeceville.
Waldeck finished third with a 63-27 win over Shaunavon and losses to Swift Current and Preeceville.
Shaunavon finished fourth without a win.
