The Swift Current Midget Indians made it all the way to the AA Provincial final before losing to the North East Red Sox 6-4 in extra innings to place second in the province.
The Tribe opened their weekend with a 17-0 win over the Regina Pacers on Friday. They followed up with an 11-0 win over the Saskatoon A’s later that day.
The Midget Indians followed up Saturday with a 14-0 win over the Prince Albert Royals. They allowed their first run in a 15-1 win over the Regina Buffalos on Saturday to win their round robin group.
The Indians faced the Moose Jaw Canucks in the semi-final on Sunday afternoon and got past them with a 3-0 win when Andrew Garland tossed a complete game shutout.
The Midget Indians will also host the 2014 Western Canadian Midget AA Championships on August 14-17 for a second straight year. The Red Sox will represent Saskatchewan and the Midget Indians will get a spot as the host team against provincial championship teams from British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba.
