Tribe surrender late lead to Red Sox

The Swift Current Indians lost their second consecutive game Friday, allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to fall 4-3 to the host Regina Red Sox in a meeting between two of the Western Major Baseball League's top teams.

Regina scored twice off of Zach Manley in the ninth, including a two-out, walk-off single from Rob Hogenkamp to score Geordie McDougall.

Juan Pizarro made a strong start for the Tribe, allowing only three hits, three walks, and two runs, one that was earned, over six innings.

Eros Modena and Hunter Owen had runs batted in, while Josh Johnson, Matt Spillman, and Darren Kolk came around to score. Modena continues to lead the WMBL with 37 RBI in 32 games.

The Tribe dropped to 23-15 in their second straight loss but hold a three-game lead in the Central Division. Regina improved to 23-13 as they continue to pull away in the East Division.

The Indians will visit the Medicine Hat Mavericks (21-16) on Saturday.
