Swift Current Indians
The Swift Current Indians got hits from all nine batters as they defeated the host Okotoks Dawgs 8-4 Saturday. The win extended the Tribe's winning streak to five games after opening the season 0-4.
The Indians knocked out 16 base hits, 15 of them were singles to go along with one double and have now outscored the opposition 46-15 during a five-game winning streak.
Sean Callegari continued his outstanding start to the season as he allowed only six hits and four runs, only one that was earned, over six innings for a 0.47 earned run average through his first three starts.
Mike Frericks and Zach Manley both made scoreless relief appearances for the Tribe.
Josh Johnson helped spark the offense with two hits, two stolen bases, one run scored and a run batted in from the leadoff spot. Shortstop Hunter Owen had a double and two singles with a run scored and a RBI. Eros Modena and Justin Lee both had two hits and two runs scored as well.
Swift Current improved to 5-4, while Okotoks dropped to 2-9. The two teams will meet again Sunday afternoon.
