The Swift Current Indians have signed a three-year contract extension with Joe Carnahan to retain his services as the coach of the Western Major Baseball League team.

"Joe’s continued success in the WMBL and commitment to baseball in our community speakes volumes about his character, and we are proud to have him create and lead successful rosters every year, a team our community can support every year," the team said in a statement announcing the new contract.

The Indians are coming off a WMBL Central Division regular season championship season where they had a 29-17 record. In the playoffs the Tribe won their opening series against Weyburn before bowing out of the post season to eventual league playoff champion Melville.
