The Swift Current Indians lost for only a second time at home this season in a 7-3 loss to the visiting Okotoks Dawgs Thursday.

Cody Chartrand suffered the loss, allowing four hits, four runs, only two that were earned, with three walks and five strikeouts over five innings.

Four Indians relievers worked single innings but allowed three more runs to end any comeback hopes.

Swift Current got homeruns from Danny Clifford and Matt Henriksen in the loss. Clifford finished two-for-four with two runs scored and a run batted in. Local product Chad Schultz finished two-for-three to improve his average to .387.

The Indians dropped to 11-5 but still hold a three-game lead in the Central Division. Okotoks improved to 11-3 and remain second in the West Division.

The Indians currently boast a 7-2 record at home, but are only 4-3 away from Mitchell Field.

The Indians will be back on the road Saturday to visit the Western Major Baseball League leading Medicine Hat Mavericks (13-3).
