The Swift Current Indians dropped to 1-1 with a 5-2 loss to the host Moose Jaw Miller Express on Saturday.

The Indians had 10 hits but left nine runners on base in their first loss of the season.

Will Holbrook suffered loss, allowing eight hits, two walks, and five earned runs over five innings of work while striking out four.

Swift Current’s Justin Kehler pitched three scoreless innings of one-hit ball while striking out three in relief.

Left-fielder Bryant Munoz had two singles and a run batted in during his Indians’ debut. First baseman Taylor Steen singled and doubled with one RBI. Alex Schultz was on base with a double, single, and a walk as he stole his second base in as many games and scored his third run of the season.

The Indians will host their home opener on Sunday when the Edmonton Prospects visit Mitchell Field at 7:05 p.m.
