Midget Indians open SPBL season

The Swift Current Midget Indians opened their Saskatchewan Premier Midget AAA Baseball League season by hosting the defending champion Saskatoon Giants for a double header on Saturday.

The Tribe got a strong outing from reigning SPBL Pitcher of the Year Zac Mackay in a 6-2 win to open the day.

Their pitching staff struggled to find the strike zone in game two in a 17-7 loss. Kade Behm suffered the loss on the mound.

Next up for the Midget Indians will be a visit from the Saskatoon Cubs for a double header on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Indians will be on the road for two games on Sunday when they visit the Regina Wolfpack.
