The host Swift Current Indians extended their winning streak to six games with a 6-0 shutout win over the Melville Millionaires Wednesday.
The Indians scored three runs in the third inning and three more in the sixth to improve to 25-17 as they prepare for the playoffs with only three games remaining in the regular season.
Starter Alex Tufts evened his record at 3-3 with seven scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and one walk, while striking out five. Mark Hendrick finished off the shutout with two scoreless innings.
Aaron Dunsmore extended his hitting streak to 14 games with his ninth multiple hit game in his last 10 outings. The Spruce Grove product finished two-for-four with a run scored and a run batted in to move his average to .406, third in the WMBL. Brennan Peterson cashed in the winning run with a two-run double in the third inning.
The Tribe will play their final road game of the regular season on Thursday when they visit the Weyburn Beavers (18-22).
They will conclude the regular season with home games against the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (18-23) on Saturday and Sunday.
