A 10-run eighth inning turned a one-run deficit into a blowout win as the Swift Current Indians defeated the host Moose Jaw Miller Express 13-4 on Friday.
Catcher Will Thorp led the offense with three hits, three runs batted in, and a run scored. Cam Newell added three hits, scored twice and had one RBI. Aaron Dunsmore had three RBI’s on two hits and scored a run.
Mitch Ludke pitched five scoreless relief innings for the win, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out 11.
The Indians (20-17) increased their Central Division lead to three games over the Miller Express (17-20). They will visit the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets on Saturday before hosting the Lethbridge Bulls for a double header on Monday.
