The host Swift Current Indians couldn’t keep up with the Western Major Baseball League leading Regina Red Sox on Thursday as they suffered a 7-3 loss.

Alex Tufts suffered the loss, allowing 10 hits, and four earned runs while striking out six over six innings to drop to 2-3 this season.

Regina starter Ryne Drummonds pitched his way in and out of trouble, allowing 12 hits but only three runs over six innings in the win.

Third baseman Alex Mortenson led the offense with four hits and a run scored for the Tribe as they knocked out 12 hits but left 10 on base.

The Indians still lead the Central Division with a 19-17 record, while Regina improved to 28-8 with their third straight win.

The Indians will be in Moose Jaw to face the Miller Express on Friday. Moose Jaw trails Swift Current by two games for the division lead.
