Tribe end six-game slide

The Swift Current Indians snapped a six-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over the visiting Regina Red Sox on Tuesday at Mitchell Field.

Garrett Anderson pitched seven scoreless innings and Cam Newell's solo home run stood up in the win. Anderson allowed just four hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings as he struck out five in the win.

Kendall Motes pitched two hitless innings in relief to earn the save in his first appearance for the Tribe.

Newell homered with one out on a 3-1 count in the bottom of the fourth to supply the lone run in the win. The Roseburg, OR native is now hitting .273 in four games with the Tribe this season.

The Indians improved to 4-7 in their first win since June 6, while the Red Sox dropped to 12-3 as their five-game winning streak came to an end.

The Indians will be back at home Wednesday when they host the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (6-4) at 7:05 p.m.
