Brian Tschetter kicked up some dust with his #22B truck while winning both Heat 1 and the Feature race during Saturday's Fan Appreciation Night at the Speedy Creek Raceway.

Speedy Creek track officials decided to trade in dusty and dry for wet and slippery during the Fan Appreciation race night at the Speedy Creek Racing Association race night on July 5.

During the first race day after the track was transformed into a rodeo arena for Frontier Days, it was decided to wet the track following back to back 26 Celsius days. And while track conditions improved as the evening went on, the races were initially delayed by close to 45 minutes as standing water was absorbed into the track.

And while it was Fan Appreciation Night, the drivers certainly did not appreciate the early heat races where the trucks, hobbies and street stocks were forced onto a high line and often driving on the top lip of the track.

In the truck races, Brian Tschetter and his #22B truck figured out the fast line the best by claiming the Feature race and Heat 1, with James Dumont running his #27 to first in Heat 2.

There were three different winners in the Hobbies, with #5 Destiny Klym winning Heat 1, #96 Dave Koethler topping the field in Heat 2, while #11 Tyson Crowe won the Feature.

Passing was also tough to do in the early heats in the Street Stock event, with Heat 1A won by #5K Stefan Klym, Heat 1B went to #86 Trampus Lacelle, Heat 2A was claimed by #98 Rick Kehler, and Heat 2B was won by Brody Crowe. Trampus Lacelle then took the checkered flag to win the Feature race.

A special event is next on the schedule at the Speedy Creek Raceway, with the CanAm Late Model Shootout hosted on July 18 and 19. Local Street Stocks will be included in the line-u during the July 18 race night at 7 p.m., with the Trucks and Hobbies getting in on the action for race night at 7 p.m. on July 19.
