Southwest volleyball teams converge in Swift Current

Seven high school volleyball teams will take part in the Swift Current Comp. Junior Colts' tournament on Friday and Saturday

The Swift Current Comp. Junior Colts volleyball team will host their annual volleyball tournament this weekend with six Southwest teams joining them on Friday and Saturday.

The Colts have gotten out to a strong start this season with a 4-0 record in SWAC play so far. They also placed second at a tournament in Cabri to open the season and placed fourth at a tournament hosted by Kincaid/College Mathieu the following weekend.

The Junior Colts are coached by Brent Millar and are comprised of nine grade 10’s and two grade 11’s.

They will open their tournament on Friday at 4 p.m. against Ponteix. Action will continue at the Comp. Gymnasium with the last set of matches beginning at 8 p.m.

The round robin resumes Saturday at 9 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. The quarter-finals are slated for 3 p.m. with the semi-finals to follow at 4 p.m. The tournament will conclude with the championship match at 5 p.m.

Also in action this weekend will be teams from Leader/Hazlet, Vanguard, Gravelbourg, Fox Valley, and ESCM/Kincaid.
