The Redneck Betties got their revenge on the Gapland Rollers Saturday with a dominating 153-88 win.

The Redneck Betties got the better of their Rocanville rivals at home in “The Betties Strike Back” roller derby bout at the Credit Union iplex.

The win avenged a loss to the Gapland Rollers on September 24, 2011 during the Betties debut campaign.

“I think everything just kind of pulled together,” said Jinger Vitis, who was named the Redneck Betties Player of the Game. “We were making really strong walls and we knew a lot about Gapland going in… and kind of took what they played against them last year. There was a few of us that didn’t play against them last year but we have been watching videos and we have been listening to how games have been going with other teams that have played them and we have kind of built from there. We like to really learn from what other teams have experienced, so I think that really helps us.”

The rookie jammer said it was the work in the trenches that was difference in the bout.

“The blocking was amazing tonight. I have never seen the girls play so well for blockers. So it just made our job easier.”

The bout ended on somber note when the Rollers’ Femme Fatale was stretchered off and play was suspended. The Redneck Betties announced later in the evening that she was out of hospital and doing fine.

Next home action for the Redneck Betties will be September 8 when they host the Deathbridge Derby Dames.
