SCBEX 2011 Spirit of Swift Current Award Winners

The Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce saluted eight businesses with 2011 Swift Current Business Excellence (SCBEX) Spirit of Swift Current Awards at a Gala Reception at the Sky Centre on Oct. 18.

The Member Business of the Year was the highlight presentation during the 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Awards Gala Reception hosted at the Sky Centre on Oct. 19. Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce President Trevor Koot and Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce CEO Jennifer Lyster presented the award to BATCO Manufacturing founder Art Stenson. 1 width:500px;height:333px The Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre was named the winner in the Not-For-Profit category in the 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Awards. MLA Tim McMillan, representing category sponsor SaskPower, presented the award to Agnese Vilde, Executive Director Icasiana de Gala, Anika Henderson, Newcomer Welcome Centre chairperson Keleah Ostrander and Claudia Munoz, with the assistance of Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce CEO Jennifer Lyster. 2 width:500px;height:333px Blue Sky Lingerie and Leisurewear Inc. claimed the 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Award in the Start-Up/New Business category. Blue Sky owner Carla Knudson was presented her award by category sponsor Innovation Credit Union represenative CEO Daniel Johnson and Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce CEO Jennifer Lyster. 3 width:500px;height:333px Sign Here...Signs and Printing was saluted as the Small Business category winner during Thursday's 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Awards. This category was sponsored by Community Futures Southwest. The Large Business category winner at the 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Awards was Canadian Tire. Local owner Michel Deguire was saluted with his award by SaskTel representative Rhonda Seidel and Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce CEO Jennifer Lyster. 6 width:500px;height:333px Great West Auto Electric was one of two Hall of Fame Inductees during the 2011 SCBEX Spirit of Swift Current Awards, with the award sponsored by the City of Swift Current.
