On Sunday we were delighted to see 52 people come out to commemorate Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.

Participants raised $2,160 toward cancer research. Both the number of participants and the amount of money raised in Swift Current were up from previous years. But what was most noticeable was the age of the participants. Many young families brought their children in strollers, on bicycles and skateboards, meanwhile senior citizens walked on ahead.

There was a true feeling of community spirit, which is what Terry hoped his efforts would promote.

The run would not have happened had it not been for the generous volunteer support and contributions from local merchants.

So once again, we are are grateful and impressed with our local Terry Fox and cancer research supporters.
