Swift Current snow removal efforts are top notch

I would like for Len Waker to take a reality pill. He says the City's snow removal this year is not acceptable.

I would like to say that I moved to Swift Current in the fall of 1963, and have never seen a better snow removal.

He says Saskatoon was so much better. My wife and I drove to Saskatoon on Boxing Day and found conditions an awful lot worse that what we left in Swift Current.

Everyone keeps complaining, but no one holds councils feet to the fire! It will never change until people start getting their hands dirty and taking a stand. You can't expect different results doing the same thing!

The only reason there was some snow removal this winter is because taxes are going way, up and the city borrowed millions more dollars. Give it till next year at this time and the Mayor will no doubt be telling us that if we want better snow removal then he will have to raise taxes AGAIN! because we will be broke once again with very little to show for it. It is an ongoing cycle for the last ten years and wont come to an end until the people stop it. So Wake up people!!

It took 7 weeks to clear the ice ruts on some of the main streets that most people drive on and there are still parts of the main drags that are not cleared. If we had the same amount of snow by this time as we did last year the streets would still be in horrible condition. I'm still waiting for my street to be cleared. We all pay taxes but we all don't get a cleared street before nature takes takes care of it in April or May. Most people probably don't remember our Mayor telling us before the last budget that if we wanted to have proper snow removal like other cities our taxes would need to go up "at least" 8%. Well they went up even more and I'm still waiting.
