On April 27, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council held their 25th Annual Ability Bowl. This was a very special day for our team at Great Plains College as we were bowling in the memory of the son of one of our colleagues who was killed in a tragic accident last year.
The Ability Bowl was a special project of Bryce Molyneux. Not only was he the team captain of the Kinsmen Ability Bowl team, he was also one of the major fund raisers for this event. This year, the Kinsmen had two teams represent them in Bryce’s memory and a team of employees from Great Plains College also named their team in his memory.
The Great Plains College team decided to raise all their money as one group dedicated to Bryce’s memory. As a result, our team won one of the major prizes which we are going to raffle off on May 31 (Lottery Licence #PAR13-0027). All money raised from this raffle will be given to the Abilities Council in Bryce’s memory.
When we made this announcement at the Ability Bowl’s windup supper, two more winners generously donated their prizes to us for our raffle; each ticket will now have three chances to win a prize. If anyone wishes to purchase a ticket (or tickets) to win: #1) a golf package at Chinook Golf Course (two clubs – driver and putter – three golf lessons, and 10 rounds of golf); #2) a mountain bike; or #3) a portrait package from Artistic Expressions (sitting and 8x10 portrait), you may do so at the front desk of Great Plains College. You may also purchase tickets from any member of our bowling team – Lorraine Kehler, Wyatt Hughes, Gail Wesolowski, Shaun Nagy, or Diana Molyneux.
The generosity of the Swift Current community never ceases to amaze us.
