The following is a letter to the unruly and disrespectful Swift Current fan that came to the Dec, 29 WHL game in Medicine Hat.

You sat in section 22, row one, seat one and you were extremely obnoxious as you put on a horrible display of sportsmanship in front of several children that sat in your area. Your constant use of the “F” bomb in front of a two, four and 10-year-old was deplorable. I certainly hope that most Swift Current fans are not like you.

I don’t know if your abrasive personality came from all the beers you were pounding back, but your behavior was total uncalled for. You are a guest in our rink and we expect better behavior in our building. I sat thru two periods of your unruly behavior before I finally said something and then you started a personal attack on me. I am a season ticket holder with the Tigers and my son and I come to many games, but we have never had such a poor experience at Tiger game. You totally wrecked a nice evening out for my son and I with your negative display. The parent with the two-year-old actually moved to get away from your verbal potty mouth. When I finally mentioned to you that I was going to get security to deal with you, you stepped up your attack on me even more.

The sad part of this incident is that we won 4-1, but you left us feeling like we lost.

This was not friendly bantering that normally occurs when opposition fans come to watch their team in our building, you were outright disrespectful to the Medicine Hat fans that sat around you. Many times we have travelled to Lethbridge to watch the Tigers play and we are always respectful in their building and to their fans, you need to learn to show that common courtesy in other arenas. You have to grow up and learn some manners, as my 10-year-old has more manners and decency than you!

You are not welcome back in “OUR” building! So when Feb rolls around and your team is back in Medicine Hat to play, I have but one request please stay back in Swift Current.

I completely agree that would make a miserable night for a family outing. I have not lived in Swift Current or Medicine Hat but had business to conduct in Swift Current over a couple of days. A client asked me to come out to a Swift Current Bronco game rather then spending the evening in my hotel room, what a great idea, something exciting to do. NOT, I was hit in the back of my with an object, I to subject to offensive language, we were sitting near kids and parents and jerks. I will say this as I am neither a fan of either of these teams but the terrible language came from both sides Tiger fans as well as Bronco fans. I get the wrongs never make a right but I have never been in a situation like that. What I didn't get you don't get a lot of that behavior at an NHL game so why in the WHL league. What a shame, and because I was hit by a Tiger fan and it was in the old rink, what a shame as the game brings out so much stupidity in people and yes my injury was from a Tiger fan. So I will end this shame on any fan who behaves badly in front of any child but a wake up call to Randy you can't single this to a Swift Current problem its also Medicine Hats problem, Regina problem a Moose Jaw problem and any city that hosts a WHL team.
