Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in six Saskatchewan forecast regions, including portions of the Southwest.
In the Southwest, the watch is in effect for the Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake plus the Leader - Gull Lake regions.
Environment Canada notes that conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
These thunderstorms are expected to develop in southwestern Saskatchewan this afternoon, some of which may become severe. Thunderstorms are expected to persist into the evening.
