North Battleford RCMP

2014 August 11   9:00 pm

North Battleford RCMP investigated several commercial and personal property crimes that had occurred over several days and nights in early August. Investigation has resulted in the arrest of two youths. The youths are facing charges that include charges of Break and Enter, Theft, Mischief, and Possession of Property obtained by Crime. The youth were held in custody and made their first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Youth Court on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 9:30 am.

Moose Jaw RCMP

2014-08-11 18:30 hrs

 

At approximately 4pm this date, members of the Moose Jaw Detachment, Caronport Police Service, CP Rail Police, Caronport Fire, EMS, and Moose Jaw Fire Dept attended to the scene of a Train vs Truck collision near the community of Caron.  A train travelling Westbound struck a Northbound semi trailer unit at a marked north-south grid rail crossing west of the community.  The 55 yr old male driver the semi trailer has been taken to Moose Jaw Hospital with NON life threatening injuries.  STARS Air Ambulance attended the scene, however, the driver was taken to hospital by road ambulance.  There were NO other injuries to members of the train crew.  The impact caused the derailment of approximately 15 rail cars most of which were empty at the time.  There has been no leak of any hazardous materials, and the intersection is expected to be open shortly.

 

CP Police and RCMP are conducting a joint investigation into the cause of the crash.

Humboldt RCMP

On Sunday, August 10, 2014 at approximately 8:30 pm, an 18 year old male in a truck drove through an yield sign at an intersection on a grid road near Englefeld, SK and T-boned another vehicle. The occupants of the second vehicle, a family including a man, wife and child were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. The father was transported by STARS while the mother and child by ambulance. The 18 year old male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for Drive with undue care and attention as well as Failing to give right of way at an intersection.

The scene has been entirely cleared and traffic is flowing as it should in both eastbound lanes.  The 35 year old passenger from Saskatoon who was in the pickup along with the 45 year old grader operator from Regina sustained what were described as non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the Regina General Hospital.  Their current status is unknown.

 

The 32 year old driver of the pickup (also from Saskatoon), was charged with:

Driving without due care and attention - Sec. 280 of the Traffic Safety Act which has a fine of $280.00.

 

Lumsden RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience during the course of the investigation and removal of the heavy equipment from the accident scene.

 

UPDATE:

The accident in the eastbound lane of Hwy #11 near the top of the valley, north of Lumsden is being cleaned up.  There is one lane of traffic open allowing Eastbound traffic through.  RCMP are awaiting the tow truck to upright and remove the road grader.

We would like to remind motorists to slow to 60 km/hr when passing emergency and tow personnel.

UPDATE:

The accident in the eastbound lane of Hwy #11 near the top of the valley, north of Lumsden is being cleaned up.  There is one lane of traffic open allowing Eastbound traffic through.  RCMP are awaiting the tow truck to upright and remove the road grader.

We would like to remind motorists to slow to 60 km/hr when passing emergency and tow personnel.

Lumsden RCMP and Lumsden Emergency Services are currently on scene of a two vehicle accident on Hwy #11 just north of Lumsden, Sk.  Initial investigation shows that a Dodge pickup with two male occupants drove into the rear of a road grader.  The grader which was operated by a male as well, is overturned and blocking the highway.

The male driver of the Dodge pickup is okay but the passenger of the truck and the grader operator have sustained undetermined injuries and will be transported to hospital.

It is unknown how long the highway will be blocked.  Police are attempting to route some of the lighter vehicle traffic around the scene but semis and heavy vehicles are having to wait until the accident is investigated and the scene is cleared.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Between Thursday June 26, 2014 11:00 PM and Friday June 27, 2014 9:30 AM suspects stole a greenish brown 2003 Chevrolet Venture van with Saskatchewan plate # 767EWP. The van was stolen from a residence in Jansen, Saskatchewan while parked in the drive way.

On Sunday June 29, 2014 Humboldt RCMP received a complainant that a white 1993 GMC 1500 truck that was stuck on a flooded grid road north of the Highway 5 and 2 Junction was stolen. The truck is a regular cab truck with no tailgate and has heavy passenger side damage. It is unknown what plate number is on the vehicle but may possibly be Saskatchewan plate # 452IRC. The truck was stuck on a grid road in the RM of Bayne near land location NE32-37-27.

Between Friday July 25, 2014 and Monday August the 4, 2014 suspects entered an unlocked residence located in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan. The suspects sprayed graffiti on one wall, burned a bible and overflowed the toilet causing considerable water damage to the residence.

953 pm - Report of a male causing problems at a residence.  Investigation resulted in a male being arrested and charged with failing to comply with Probation conditions.

 

959 pm - Report of a vehicle hitting a post then leaving the scene.  Members located and stopped the vehicle a few blocks away.  Investigation resulted in the male driver being arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Subject was held until sober and released pending future court appearance.

 

1041 pm - Report of a break in to a residence sometime during the afternoon. Nothing taken.  Investigation ongoing.

 

1124 pm - Report of an intoxicated person behind a local business. A female was arrested/charged for public intoxication. Held in custody until sober then released.

 

1127 pm - Report of a possible impaired driver.  Patrols made for the suspect vehicle - not located.

 

1158 pm - While conducting patrols members conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle.  Driver found to not have a licence and vehicle was not registered.  Driver charged accordingly and vehicle towed/impounded.

252 pm - Report of a tire slashed on a vehicle during the previous night while parked on the street.

236 pm - Report of an intoxicated male causing problems at a business. Male suspect had left before members arrived - patrols to locate the male were negative.

 

353 pm - Report of shoplifting from a city business. A male youth was arrested for Theft. The youth suspect was held until being released to a parent with a court date to appear on 1 count of Theft under 5000.00. Investigation ongoing.

 

401 pm - Report of 3 people causing problems on a downtown street.  Patrols resulted in 2 individuals being identified and checked.  Warning issued and individuals were sent on their way.

 

437 pm - Report of a stolen bicycle. Bicycle was returned the following day by the parent of the youth that "borrowed" the bike. Owner of the bicycle did not want to pursue charges.

 

514 pm - Report of theft of some furniture items during the 2 hours previous from the display area in front of a downtown business.  Investigation ongoing.

 

630 pm - Report of an assault.  Investigation resulted in a male being arrested and later released with conditions and a date for future appearance in court.

 

753 pm - Report of an unknown intoxicated female sitting on the front steps of a residence.  Patrols to locate subject were negative.

1211 am - Report of a disturbance at a downtown business.  An intoxicated male was arrested for Causing a Disturbance and held in custody until sober to prevent any further incidents.

 

233 am - Report of a cellular phone being stolen. Investigation ongoing.

 

302 am - Report of an intoxicated female lying on the road.  Female was located/ arrested for public intoxication.  Held in custody until sober.

 

310 am - Report of people causing a disturbance in a residential neighbourhood.  Patrols made were negative.

La Ronge RCMP

 

On 2014-08-09 at 02:30 hrs La Ronge RCMP are on scene of a Fatal Pedestrian Collision at Highway 2 in La Ronge.  La Ronge RCMP, North Battleford RCMP Traffic Analyst and the Coroner's Office are continuing the investigation.

 

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time awaiting NOK's.

 

La Ronge RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding this Collision to call the RCMP at 425-6730.

RCMP are releasing the name of the deceased.  Gary John JOHNSON, 52 years old of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

 

Police are continuing the investigation and requesting the public's assistance with any information relating to the collision to come forward.

On 2014-08-09 at 02:30 hrs La Ronge RCMP are on scene of a Fatal Pedestrian Collision at Highway 2 in La Ronge.  La Ronge RCMP, North Battleford RCMP Traffic Analyst and the Coroner's Office are continuing the investigation.

 

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time awaiting NOK's.

 

La Ronge RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding this Collision to call the RCMP at 425-6730.

Onion Lake RCMP

The Onion Lake RCMP are seeking the assistance from the public in finding a missing youth who was reported missing in the early morning hours of August 7, 2014 from a residence on Onion Lake First Nation.

 

Tirese Kasey OKEYMOW, 15 years old, described as first nations, 5'4", 110 lbs, with brown eyes and long black hair.  ( photo attached)

 

It is possible that OKEYMOW is in Alberta or Saskatchewan.
