Craik RCMP

2014-07-30

10:30 p.m.

Craik RCMP are currently on scene of a motor vehicle collision involving two semi-tractor trailer units at the intersection of Highway #11 and Highway #732 approximately one mile south of Craik.

A west bound semi-tractor trailer unit was crossing the southbound lanes of Highway #11 at the intersection of Highway #11 and Highway #27 when it struck a southbound semi-tractor trailer unit.

The west bound semi unit was driven by a 26-year-old male from Craik and was carrying recycled railroad ties. The southbound semi unit was driven by an adult male and was carrying the remains of a quanset that was damaged in a storm.

Fire rescue from Craik responded. There were no injuries and both vehicles were damaged and had to be towed from the scene. The southbound lanes of Highway #11 were closed for approximately 1.5 hours to remove the damaged vehicles, but has since been re-opened.

The investigation into the cause of the collision continues.

North Battleford RCMP

4:45 p.m.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 29th, the Battlefords RCMP Detachment and EMS responded to a collision on the Mosquito First Nation where a 3 year old girl was struck by a motor vehicle. The injured girl was initially transported to hospital in North Battleford, then transferred to Saskatoon via STARS air ambulance, where she remains with life threatening injuries. The collision occurred at a residential property on the Mosquito First Nation, located approximately 30 kms south of Battleford, SK. The lone male driver of the vehicle was not injured and it has been determined that alcohol was not a factor in the collision. Battleford RCMP members are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Battleford Forensic Identification Services Unit and the General Investigation Services Units out of Saskatoon and Battleford. There has been no decisions made yet as to whether charges will be laid in this instance.

Over 40 calls for service/occurrences reported including 10 Traffic related complaints/matters, 3 False Alarms, 5 Municipal Bylaw/Noise Complaints.

 

2014-07-29

720 am - Theft of cash and personal property from a vehicle parked on 18th Avenue overnight.

 

10:43 am - Complaint of assault made. Statements obtained, minor injury. Charges currently pending against one suspect. Investigation ongoing.

 

11:05 am - Complaint of a male operating a motor vehicle with a small child without child restraint. Patrols made the vehicle was not located.

 

2:00 pm - Complaint of assault relating to a domestic situation. Investigation ongoing.

 

2:04 pm - Local doctor's office called requesting assistance locating a patient for an urgent matter.

 

5:37 pm - Complaint of three intoxicated persons harassing people for money on 101st Street, then later outside a business on a 102nd Street. Members attended and had the people move along.

 

6:14 pm - Complaint of two males harassing people for money on 101st Street. Members attended and the two males could not be located.

 

7:40 pm - Complaint of male at the Tim Hortons on Territorial walking through the drive through harassing staff then walking into the restaurant and harassing staff. Police attended however suspect left before police attended.

 

8:36 pm - Complaint of  a physical altercation on 98th St., after two intoxicated individuals were taunting a home owners dogs. The suspects left after the home owner confronted them.  Suspects not located.

 

9:11 pm - A complaint of house party blasting music in a downstairs residence on 1472 101 St.

 

945 pm - 38 year old male facing charges of Failing to Comply with Undertaking, not home for curfew check.

 

9:50 pm - Complaint of a female attending an apartment block that she is currently banned from attending. Police attended and escorted the female home without incident.

 

1119 pm - Call of a suspicious male on 99th Street who may have a gun.  Suspect located and no firearm in his possession.

 

11:30 pm - Complaint of a male carrying a shotgun wrapped in a blanket, in and around the Scotia Bank. Police attended and located several males in connection. The shotgun found to be a samurai sword. Two adult males arrested. 28 year old male facing charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  26 year old man facing charges of Failing to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

11:35 pm - Complaint of an intoxicated driver on 112th St. Police attended, however the suspect vehicle was parked upon police arrival. No further action taken.

 

11:49 pm - Complaint of two youths throwing rocks at buildings along 101 St. Police attended, however the youths were gone upon arrival.

 

2014-07-30

1231 am - Report of a missing adult male, last scene at 11 am the previous morning.  Initial checks at several locations negative, male was located safe shortly after 7 am.

 

135 am - Vehicle driving erratically on 106th Street struck a fence before fleeing scene.  Couple other complaints about a similar described vehicle over the next hour or so.  Vehicle was located by members shortly before 3 am on 110th Street, abandoned.  Vehicle seized and towed and investigation is continuing.

 

425 am - Report of two suspects trying to get into a vehicle on 112th Street, but unable to gain entry.  Fled north.

 

542 am - Several 911 calls received regarding a dispute at a residence on 105th Street.  Members attended and located two individuals having a loud argument.  Male was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest and taken into custody.
