Environment Canada is warning of the potential of severe weather in the Southern portion of Saskatchewan tonight.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a number of forecast regions in the province, including the Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake plus the Leader - Gull Lake regions of the Southwest.

Their watch notes that an increasingly unstable airmass over Southern Saskatchewan will create favourable conditions for severe thunderstorms this evening into tonight. A cold front moving into Western Saskatchewan from Alberta along with a surface trough located over South-Central Saskatchewan will provide the focus for severe thunderstorm development.
