Prince Albert RCMP are currently investigating an ATV collision that resulted in the death of a 42-year-old male from Prince Albert, SK.

Prince Albert RCMP members responded to this complaint at  6:48 p.m. July 16, 2014, 24 kms west of Prince Albert, SK. The male was riding alone at the time of the collision. Investigators believe speed may have been a contributor to the collision. There is no indication of alcohol being a factor.  At this early stage in the investigation, investigators believe the ATV operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The deceased's next of kin have been advised and his name has been withheld at their request.

The Coroner was on scene and has ordered an autopsy in Saskatoon. Results of the autopsy are not expected for several weeks.  It will take several weeks for investigators to complete their investigation.  No additional details will be available until then.

613 am - Theft of a 2013 Ford F150 reported from Henderson Drive.  A second vehicle reported stolen from Henderson Drive about an hour later.  Both vehicles recovered on the Red Pheasant First Nation in the morning.  Both vehicles left with keys inside.  Two 15 year old youths have been charged with Two counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5000.  Both have since been released from custody on several conditions until their first scheduled appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on September 4th.  The investigation into this and several other matters in continuing and further charges may be pending.

 

743 am - Report of noise/yelling/fighting at a residence on 109th Street.  Upon arrival male reported to have been causing problems already gone and patrols for subject negative.  Investigation continuing.

 

824 am - 2010 White Ford F150 with Saskatchewan License 8R406 reported stolen from 1900 block of 100th Street overnight.  Keys left in vehicle.

 

141 pm - White 2000 Ford Focus reported stolen from Clements Drive overnight.  Keys believed left in vehicle.  Vehicle was located a short distance away and investigation is continuing.  This and outstanding stolen vehicle reported at 824 am may be linked to two youths arrested earlier in day.

 

432 pm - Response to residential alarm on Cardinal Crescent.  Home found with door ajar, cleared by members.  Nothing reported missing.

 

559 pm - 41 year old male arrested for Causing a Disturbance on 101st Street after report of an intoxicated male stumbling around the area and bothering people.

 

603 pm - Single vehicle collision with a sign on Highway 40 on east edge of city.  No injuries.

 

645 pm - Report of shoplifting at a business on 1000 Block of 101st Street.  24 year old woman arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 after a second report of her attempting to steal items from a second business at 1023pm.

 

712 pm - Minor collision on 2500 block of 98th Street reported between vehicle and a parked vehicle.  No injuries.

 

825 pm - Report of four persons to be removed from caller's property on Ross Crescent.  All four subjects cooperative upon police arrival, one did have an outstanding warrant for arrest which was executed without incident.

 

857 pm - 26 year old male arrested and facing possible charge of Theft Under $5000 after being witnessed jumping a fence and stealing his neighbour's firewood on 103rd Street.

 

1053 pm - Report of a male and female fighting on 8th Avenue.  Both located, both severally intoxicated.  Arguing but no reported violence.  28 year old woman and 32 year old male both arrested for being drunk in public and held in custody until sober.

 

1102 pm - 16 year old female has pending charges of Failing to Comply with Undertaking after a curfew check by members.

 

1157 pm - 18 year old male has pending charge of Failing to Comply with Probation and an allegation of Failing to comply with Conditional Sentence order after a curfew check by members.

 

2014.07.17

232 am - Report of an assault at a home on 800 block of 112th Street.  Male reported to have pointed a pistol at the complainant.  27 year old male was arrested on scene, pistol was recovered and confirmed to have been a pellet gun.  Male remains in custody, charges of Pointing a Firearm, Assault and Uttering Threats are pending.  A 21 year old male was also arrested on scene, very intoxicated and not wanted at the residence.  Investigation ongoing.

 

545 am - Report of a male on 100th Street causing a disturbance, trying to fight people.  Subject ran onto some buildings on 101st Street and a short chase ensued.  Male attempted to jump off a 25 foot high building and pursuing member was able to grab hold of the subject's extended arms.  The male was convinced after a minute or so to assist the members in dragging him back up onto the roof where he was taken into custody without any serious injuries.  20 year old male remains in custody, charges still pending for Mischief, Breach of Probation X 2 and Resist Arrest.
