La Ronge RCMP

2014-07-09 @ 2005 hrs

 

At approximately 10:00 pm July 7, 2014 LaRonge RCMP were called to a residence at Morin's Hill on the Lac La Ronge First Nations.  53 year old male McIvor McKenzie was pronounced dead soon after by staff at the La Ronge hospital.

An autopsy was conducted on  July 9th, 2014.  As a result of the autopsy, La Ronge RCMP in conjunction with Saskatoon Major Crimes are treating the death as a homicide.

La Ronge RCMP are asking that anyone with any information regarding McKenzie’s death is asked to call the RCMP at 425-6730 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No further information is being released at this time.

Warman/Martensville RCMP

On July 8, 2014 the Warman/Martensville RCMP received a complaint of a 44 year old missing person from Martensville.  Sheri Rode was last seen by her family on June 9, when she left her home in Martensville to register a red 1996 Dodge Caravan - she never returned.

 

Sheri Rode was reportedly seen driving the Caravan with two male occupants on July 5 in Saskatoon, however, her current whereabouts is still unknown.  Sheri Rode is deaf/mute, and described as 5'2" with brown hair and green eyes.

 

Police are currently obtaining a current photograph of Sheri and the Dodge Caravan.

 

The RCMP are asking anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Sheri Rode to contact the Warman/Martensville RCMP Detachment at (306) 975-1610 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Battlefords Rural RCMP

An enhanced policing agreement involving the Mossomin and Saulteaux First Nations has resulted in an RCMP office opening in Cochin, SK on June 27, 2014.  The office is located on Saulteaux First Nation land located at 891 Hwy 4 at the north end of Cochin.  The office provides a work place for officers and staff but is not a separate Detachment.  Police officers are staffed at irregular hours at this office and the public is to phone in complaints or emergencies.  The office is a satellite of Battlefords Detachment and calls to police are to be made through (306)446-1720 or 9-1-1.

 

A grand opening and open house is being planned for upcoming weeks.  A media release will follow once a date and time is confirmed.

Over 25 calls for service, including two 911 hang up calls.

 

0737 am – Call received of a phone scam that called the complainant numerous times throughout the day.

 

1120 am – Complaint of theft from a residence on 114th Street. Suspect entered the residence and stole the homeowners wallet. Suspect has been identified, matter is still under investigation.

 

1200 pm – Complaint of a domestic assault from 101st Street. Matter was said to have occurred over the course of the weekend, minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.

 

1243 pm – Police responded to a complaint of an unconscious and intoxicated male at the library, however when police attended the male had already left.

 

253 pm – Complaint of a truck driving through the Ross Crescent Park. The vehicle driver was located and matter dealt with.

 

418 pm – While on patrol police located a highly intoxicated male. Male was arrested and lodged in cells for his own safety until sober.

 

615 pm – Complaint received of a motor vehicle collision near the east end Tim Hortons. No injuries to either party, matter still under investigation.

 

707 pm – Call of some cut trees by the water tower that have begun to attract bumblebees… police attended, Bees dealt with accordingly.

 

900 pm – Compliant of an intoxicated female at the Gold Eagle Casino. Female arrested and lodged in cells for her own safety until sober.

 

900 pm – Complaint of a male who was located failing to comply with his conditions of release. The male was arrested and lodged in cells. Charges are pending.

 

952 pm – Police received a complaint of a child custody issue, where a mother refused to relinquish custody of her daughter to her father as agreed. Matter is still being investigated.

 

1018 pm – Complaint of an intoxicated female knocking on apartment doors on 99th Street. The female was subsequently located and arrested.

 

1130 pm – Complaint of a male that had been reported as attempting to harm himself on 108th Street. Police attended, the male did not harm himself and appeared to be intoxicated by drug. The male was subsequently taken to the hospital for further observation.

 

2014-08-09

 

0019 am – Intoxicated male located walking down 99th Street. The male was arrested for his own safety and lodged in cells.

 

1219 am - Intoxicated male located walking down Hock Avenue cursing and shouting. . The male was arrested for his own safety and lodged in cells. Charges are currently pending.

 

152 am – Complaint of an intoxicated youth lying in the middle of the road on Panton Avenue. The youth was transported to the hospital for further observation.

 

0153 am – Complaint of an intoxicated male attempting to gain access to an apartment on 99th Street. The male was promptly arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

 

0255 am – Complaint received of some broken windows  on 109th Street. Police attended and located two individuals. Charges are pending.

 

0442 am – Complaint of a loud party on 101st Street. Police attended, two individuals were subsequently arrested and lodged in cells.
