A 47-year-old motorcycle rider was killed on June 26 during a fatal collision with a semi-truck on the Trans-Canada Highway outside of Maple Creek.
A 47-year-old motorcycle rider was killed this morning during a fatal collision with a semi-truck on the Trans-Canada Highway outside of Maple Creek.
Maple Creek RCMP report that the motorcycle rider was killed when he struck the rear of a transport truck at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway #21 north of Maple Creek at approximately 9:30 a.m. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Traffic is being diverted around the accident scene in order for an RCMP traffic analyst to investigate the fatality.
RCMP are advising that the westbound lane of the Trans-Canada is down to one lane, and motorists can expect delays at the intersection.
RCMP reminds drivers in the accident area to slow down to 60 kilometres per hour when passing emergency workers and tow trucks.
