Hang on Southwest Saskatchewan, the Ride of a Century has begun in Swift Current.

Frontier Days 2014 and the Swift Current Centennial Homecoming is underway, with four full days of excitement planned.

The formal launch to Frontier Days was hosted Thursday morning when the kick-off Pancake Breakfast was hosted at Market Square. The event beginning event also featured Mayor Jerrod Schafer burning the Frontier Days brand.

Weather has already played a part in the festivities, with Thursday's kick off concert featuring The Hunter Brothers and Emerson Drive moved to the iPlex instead of their outdoor venue at the rodeo arena. The concert was a success thanks to the change of venue.

In addition, a performance by a trick rider was delayed because of wet conditions in the riding arena.

Weather was not a factor for this afternoon's Kiddies Parade at 4 p.m., with a large crowd turning out for the Centennial edition of this family-friendly parade.
