Environment Canada has ended a Special Weather Statement in the Southwest and are no longer calling for heavy rainfall in the region.

While there is still a forecast calling for a soggy end to the Victoria Day long weekend, the potential for heavy rains has shifted eastward.

Earlier on Sunday, Environment Canada had issued a Special Weather Statement for the Swift Current-Herbert-Cabri-Kyle-Lucky Lake forecast region, advising of a strengthening weather system which could have delivered locally heavy rains during scattered thunderstorms.

Swift Current's forecast for Sunday night has been downgraded to showers and the potential of a thunderstorm tonight, and a Monday forecast of more showers and the risk of a thunderstorm.
