Southey-Strasbourg RCMP

Some time between Thursday April 17th and Tuesday April 22nd (Easter Long Weekend) a Rural Farm house South of Govan, Sask was broken into.  The residence, just off Hwy 20, was entered through the front door.  The property representative could not tell if anything was missing however some drawers were gone through.  The investigation is ongoing and suspects have not been identified.  Rural residents are always reminded to report any suspicious activity in the rural areas.  Police can use vehicle descriptions, license plate numbers and any identifiable marking on vehicles to further investigations.

RCMP Saskatoon Integrated Organized Crime North

Hugo Gallegos is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon court on the morning of April 22nd 2014 to face additional charges in relation to a theft from Whitecap Dakota First Nation.

Gallegos will be facing 4 additional charges of:

 Theft over $5000 sec. 334(a) of the Criminal Code;

Fraud over $5000 sec. 380 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code;

Possession of the Proceeds of Crime over $5000 sec. 354 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code;

Laundering the Proceeds of Crime sec.  462.31 of the Criminal Code.

These offences occurred between January 2009 and July of 2013.

Members of the RCMP’s Integrated Organized Crime North are continuing their investigation into this matter.

Background:

On September 6, 2013, Saskatoon RCMP received a complaint from the Whitecap Dakota First Nation relating to missing funds.

Investigators from Saskatoon RCMP and the RCMP Integrated Organized Crime Unit – North conducted an investigation and on September 11, 2013 they charged Hugo Gallegos, of Saskatoon, (DOB 1973-01-18) with theft over $5,000.  Investigators have been unable to locate Gallegos and a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest.  Investigators believe Gallegos may have left the country as he has ties in his native El Salvador.

Hugo Gallegos is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon court on October 31, 2013 at 10:00 to answer to charges of theft over $5,000 and fraud over $5000.

Gallegos voluntarily returned to Canada on October 29, 2013, and travelled from Toronto to Saskatoon for this court appearance.

North Battleford RCMP

North Battleford RCMP are investigating a Robbery which occurred in a hotel room shortly after 1am on Tuesday April 22nd, 2014.  Two males, one armed with a knife, gained entry into a hotel room and pushed one victim down onto the floor before taking several personal items and fleeing the scene.  There were three persons staying in the room at the time of this incident.  The victims were not injured in the attack.  Initial investigation indicates the suspects may have entered the wrong room and the victims in this matter were not the suspect's intended targets.  Both suspects are described as being First Nations, one was wearing glasses, 6'1" tall, heavier set with a blue windbreaker, the second 5'8", wearing a darker sweater.  Surveillance footage from the scene is in the process of being reviewed.  If anyone has any information on this matter they are requested to contact the North Battleford RCMP at 1-306-446-1720 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

705am - Vehicle on 8th Avenue had a rock thrown through a window some time during the night.

 

733am- 2010 Red Ford Escape XLT with Saskatchewan License 858 IRH stolen from 1700 blcok of 103rd Street.

 

1203pm - 911 call to a residence on 110th, intoxicated and unwanted person attended residence, then left when police called.  No further problems.

 

247pm - Report of a grass fire off 110th Street.  Fire Department and members attended, found a small fire which was quickly extinguished.  No suspects identified.

 

254pm - Report of harassment re- unwanted communication with an ex.  Suspect located and warned.

 

604pm - Missing Person Complaint.  Hannah BOLIG,13, last scene on 1700 block of 100th Street.  She has blonde hair, wearing black jeans, black jacket, and pink and purple high top shoes.  She is approximately 5' 3" and 110lbs.

 

618pm - Report of an assault in a parking lot at Frontier Mall.  Complaint was grabbed by the arm and yelled at over an issue with a parking space.  No injuries.  Suspect described as an elderly female who left the area in a white Ford extended cab pickup.  Incident occurred around 5pm.

 

625pm - 19 year old woman arrested for mischief after report of unwanted person, intoxicated, at a residence on 110th Street.  Same persons at 1203pm complaint.

 

743pm - 49 year old male arrested from Public Intoxication in alley off 105th Street.

 

821pm - Shoplifting complaint from a business on Carlton.  Male, described as being First Nation, 6' tall wearing jeans, red hoody and a black hat fled a store after allegedly stealing headphones.

 

913pm - 41 year old male arrested for Mischief after report of an intoxicated male, passed out at a restaurant who will not wake up.

 

936pm - Report of two missing girls from a youth group home.  Dianna MCCALLUM, 15, has short hair, wearing knee length red shorts, black jacket, blue sweater.  Shailynia CHARTIER, 14, was wearing grey sweater/hoody, grey sweatpants.  Last scene at approximately 7pm.

 

1003pm - Suspicious male reported looking into a vehicle on 1400 block of 103rd street.  Did not gain entry and fled area when he noticed he was being watched.

 

1133pm - Report of person yelling and screaming on 106th Street.  Three female youth ages, 14, 15 and 15 located and arrested for Public Intoxication and charged under Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.

100am - 43 year old male arrested after report of an intoxicated person sleeping in the bathroom of the hospital.  Charged with one count of Failing to Comply with Probation for consuming alcohol.

Carrot River RCMP

Carrot River RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in regards to vandalism and arson to vehicles on the Red Earth First Nation.

 

On the early morning of March 9th, 2014, a black 2013 Mazda 3 was severely damaged. The windows were smashed out and the body of the vehicle was punctured with a sharp object which police believe was an axe. The vehicle was then lit on fire.

 

On the same morning, a red 1998 Plymouth Voyageur was severely damaged as well. All of the windows were smashed and all four tires punctured. The vehicle had the odour of gas and police believe that the culprits were trying to light it on fire.

 

Both of the above noted vehicles were parked and not stolen.

Warman RCMP

Media Release - Fatal Two Vehicle MVC - Hwy 12 near Martensville, Sask

 

At about 5:14 p.m. on April 21, 2014 Warman RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 12 at the south entrance of Martensville. A Pontiac Grand Prix was struck by a Ford Windstar van as the Grand Prix crossed the highway in front of the north bound Windstar. The driver (29 years old male) of the Grand Prix was alone in the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupants of the Windstar sustained unknown injuries. The name of the deceased is not being released as the Next of Kin has not been notified at this time. An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to attend the scene. The cause of the collision has not been determined at this point as the matter remains under investigation. The highway is open to traffic at this time.

Punnichy RCMP

Punnichy RCMP is investigating a reported home invasion that occurred on the Muskowekwan First Nation at 8:55 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014.  Several individuals wearing facial coverings gained entry to a residence where a social gathering was occurring and assaulted several people in the residence using weapons. 

 

Three male victims, aged 30, 31 and 35 years-old from Muskowekwan First Nation, were transported from the scene by ambulance. The 35-year-old male was then transported by STARS from Fort Qu'Appelle to hospital in Regina for treatment. 

 

Investigation into this matter is continuing with the assistance of the Yorkton and Regina RCMP General Investigation Sections.  No suspects have been taken into custody at the time of this release.

Saskatoon RCMP

On Friday, April 4, 2014, at 10:41 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP received a complaint from three youth who were taking photographs for a school project.  They reported that they located a person lying inside an old barn in the RM of Corman Park. The RCMP attended and found the body of a 60-year-old male. 

 

The autopsy report is pending, however his death has been deemed non-suspicious and non-criminal in nature and exposure to the elements is considered a factor. The male was last seen by police in mid-March, 2014 and was not reported as a missing person.  He is known to police as a Saskatchewan resident with no fixed address.

North Battleford RCMP are releasing two composite drawings of the two suspects involved in our current ongoing robbery investigation.  Suspect #1 is described as being 6'1" or 6'2" in height and has some noticeable facial acne.  Suspect #2 is around 5'8" in height.  Our investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the North Battleford RCMP at 1-306-446-1720 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
