Windchill warning in effect in Swift Current region

Winter continues to show no signs of easing up on the prairies as Environment Canada has issued a windchill warning for a wide portion of Saskatchewan on Sunday night and into Monday morning.

The warning notes that northwest winds of 15 to 20 kilometres per hour will combing with temperatures near the minus 30 mark to create extreme windchill values in the minus 40 to 45 range.

In the Southwest, the wind chill warning was issued only for the Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle and Lucky Lake forecast region.

Windchill values in the minus 40 to 45 range can cause frostbite on exposed skin in less than 10 minutes.
