Cypress Health Region hosting safety expo on Oct. 28 and 29
Building off of a successful inaugural event, the Cypress Health Region will be hosting its second Annual Safety Expo to educate staff, patients, and the general public on the number one value of the region: Safety.
The 2013 Expo has been expanded to become a two day event that will be held on Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cypress Regional Hospital. Hundreds of evaluations were received from last year’s Expo and have been used to make improvements to this year’s event.
“We heard a lot of very valuable feedback from last year’s expo and we’ve turned that feedback into action to make this year’s expo as valuable as possible to those that attend,” commented Jill Gates, Patient Safety Coordinator for Cypress Health. “We have new displays, more vendors, and bigger prizes for those that stop by. This is a great opportunity for everyone, both staff and public, to participate in hands-on safety displays as well as learn about what you can do as an individual to improve your own health and wellbeing and discover the many strides being made in safe healthcare delivery.”
The Safety Expo was initiated to physically display and demonstrate the importance that the Cypress Health Region places on safety. It features an emphasis on what the region is doing to protect the safety of its staff, patients, and residents, while also demonstrating new safety techniques and equipment. The Expo has many displays for both staff and the general public and is free for everyone to attend.
The inaugural event in 2012 welcomed more than 400 participants.
